Editorial Policy
Last Updated: May 1, 2026
Butternews publishes editorial pages built from source discovery, structured drafting, and manual review. Our goal is to add value through selection, explanation, context, and maintenance.
How Stories Are Produced
- We identify story candidates from public news and topical discovery systems.
- We generate a working draft and metadata for editorial review.
- Before publication, we revise the body, trust label, source context, and why-it-matters framing.
- We may update stories as new reporting becomes available.
Trust Labels
- Confirmed: the core facts are well-supported by credible reporting or official material.
- Developing: the story is still moving and details may change.
- Analysis: the page emphasizes interpretation, consequences, or broader context.
- Opinion: the page presents a viewpoint or argument.
- Reaction: the page focuses on public, political, market, or community response.
Source Use
Butternews reviews source material and reporting when preparing a story. We aim to add editorial value rather than simply repeat headlines. Public pages may summarize reviewed material in a Butternews format while preserving internal source traceability and update workflows.
Publication Standards
We try not to publish thin story pages. A story should contain enough readable body text, source context, and why-it-matters framing before going live.
Corrections and Updates
If we materially change a story, we aim to reflect that in the update history. If you believe something is wrong, please use our Corrections page or contact us directly.
